In the latest results of the scientific ranking published by Times Higher Education for 2020, IUT was ranked 601-800th in the World University and 109th in the Asian University.
According to the subject category of Times Higher Education 2020, IUT is:
- 1st Rank in Iran in the fields Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Marine Sciences.
- 2nd Rank in the country for life sciences;
- 3rd Rank in the country for international outlook and industry income;
- 4th Rank in the list of 40 Iranian universities;
According to the US News Rankings for 2020, Isfahan University of Technology is among the top 600 universities. IUT ranked fourth after the University of Tehran, the Islamic Azad University and Sharif University of Technology in Iran.
The top four universities in Iran and among the top 600 universities in the world in this ranking are the University of Tehran with a score of 52.4 and a world ranking of 405, the Islamic Azad University complex with a score of 50.5 and a world ranking of 545, Sharif University of Technology with a score of 45.8 and a world ranking of 591, and the University of Technology Isfahan with a score of 45.7 and a world ranking of 595.
Institutions were evaluated based on their research performance and ranking by members of the academic community from within the region and around the world.
