According to the results of the Times Higher Education World Rankings 2026, Isfahan University of Technology was ranked in the 601-800 range of universities worldwide, making it the sixth-best university in the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology.
According to the 2026 QS World University Rankings, Isfahan University of Technology, with a global rank of 571, is the fifth-best university in Iran, following Tehran University, Sharif University, Amirkabir University, and Iran University of Science and Technology.

The QS international ranking system published the results of ranking Asian universities in 2025, according to which Isfahan University of Technology was ranked 197th among the top 200 universities in Asia and the top 50 universities in South Asia. In the 2025 list, 984 Asian universities are listed.
Based on the 2025 version of the Times Higher Education World University Ranking, Isfahan University of Technology (IUT) has been ranked 601–800. This year 2029 top universities throughout the world participated in this ranking. Among the 80 Iranian Universities and Institutes consisting of Medical, Comprehensive, and Technology, IUT achieved 9th place, as like as last year.
Times Higher Education has been independently ranking universities worldwide since 2010, and IUT has been included in this ranking since 2016.
According to the largest global ranking of universities i.e. "Times Institute of Higher Education" for 2023, more than 2500 universities from 104 countries of the world were assessed. After the initial evaluation, the number of 1799 universities met the necessary conditions to participate in this ranking. According to the list published by this ranking institute, Oxford, Harvard and Cambridge were the universities ranked first to third worldwide. Iranian universities participation in this ranking has been on the rise, so that there were 58 universities in 2022 while they were 65 in 2023.
This ranking is carried out in 54 disciplines and 5 general fields including: engineering (22 majors), natural sciences (8 majors), biological sciences (4 majors), medical sciences (6 majors), and social sciences (14 majors). More than 1,800 universities out of 5,000 were surveyed from 96 countries. 34 universities were from Iran.
This report indicates that Isfahan University of Technology, jointly with the University of Tehran has achieved first place in the field of Physics and Astronomy with a score range of 451-500.
In the field of natural sciences, Isfahan University of Technology is ranked second with a score range of 601-700. In agricultural sciences, Isfahan University of Technology and Shiraz University of Technology jointly obtained the third rank with the score range of 251-300.
The global ranking of the National University of Taiwan for 2020 was announced in which 12 Iranian universities are among the top 800 universities in the world. In this ranking, among the universities of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Isfahan University of Technology was ranked 2nd after the University of Tehran with the rank of 601-650.
