Isfahan University of Technology team representing Iran won the gold medal and the title of "the best of the best" team at the 2nd International Nanotechnology Student Olympiad in Malaysia. In this competition, the Iranian national team ranked first by presenting its research project titled "Producing Clean Fuel from Hydrogen Using Sunlight" in innovation, technology, and market applications.
The team consists of Nima Dehghan and Hamidreza Ghorbani, Isfahan University of Technology's students, and their supervisor Dr. Masoud Atapour. The 2nd International Nanotechnology Olympiad (INO) was held in Selangor, Malaysia, and featured representatives from Iran, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The projects selected for this edition focus on addressing global challenges with nanotechnology applications in developing and producing alternative energy sources, including wind energy, solar energy, nuclear energy, hydrogen fuel, tidal energy, geothermal energy, and biomass energy. The 3rd INO, focusing on nanobiotechnology and health, will be held in Taiwan. It aims to address the critical challenges and opportunities in healthcare through nanotechnology.
