This meeting was headed by Prof. Dr. Omidi, the Acting President for International Affairs and Development of Technology Infrastructures, and Director of the IUT International Center, Prof. Dr. Sima Fakheran, with presence of 12 professors as coordinators of the faculties who are in the driving seat of the internationalization of the faculties, and the staff of the IUT International Center.

This newsletter, designed to expand the university's international scientific interactions with academic institutions abroad, aims to inform all faculty, students, and IUT staff about international events, educational opportunities, and research available in international academic spaces, News of visits and conferences, as well as bylaws and circulars related to international affairs, which can affect the international scientific interactions of outstanding academics.

 

The IUT president announced that this university is the first Iranian university that became a CMS member of the prestigious institute of CERN (The European Organization for Nuclear Research). Stating that Iran has been only connected to CERN through "the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM)", Prof. Dr. Abtahi added that the Faculty of Physics at IUT is the first faculty out of Tehran that sent students to CERN in the field of Fundamental Particle Physics for scientific cooperation.

 The results of mobility Grant in 2019 have been declared by ZHAW which is the Leading House for scientific cooperation with Iran.

According to the results reported by ZHAW, from the total 115 applications received by Iranian students, 8 grants with worth of 60 thousand Swiss francs have been granted to some students from 6 Iranian Universities.

In the latest academic rankings results published by Times Higher Education for 2020, Isfahan University of Technology (IUT) was ranked 601-800th in World University Ranking, and 109th in Asian University Ranking categories.

According to subject category of Times Higher Education 2020, IUT is:

The Deputy Secretary General of International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Mr. Malcolm Johnson, visited Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) and Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS) on the 18th of July, 2019.

This visit which succeeded a previous visit by Mr. Johnson almost a decade ago was organized to demonstrate the development and progress of ISTT in different fields especially in the field of ICT.

Following the journey of Iranian high-ranking delegation to Switzerland and their official meetings and visits from Swiss universities and scientific centers, a joint scientific workshop on Environmental Technologies has been held at ZHAW School of Engineering with participation of Iranian and Swiss academics and specialists in this field on Tuesday June 20, 2019.
