A Memorandum of Understanding between the Center of Excellence for Risk Management and Natural Hazards (RIMANAH), Isfahan University of Technology (Iran), and RWTH Aachen University (Germany) for the institute of hydraulic engineering and water resources management (IWW) was signed.

According to this MOU, RIMANAH IUT and Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management (IWW), RWTH Aachen University, Germany, wish to develop goodwill and expand interaction in research and education in the field of flood risk management in and semi-arid areas between the two universities.

 HOWAMAN project is about "Sustainable strategies and technologies for Flood Risk Management in Arid and Semi-Arid areas" in Iran. This research project will be able to enhance the bilateral partnership and facilitate the flood risk management concern in Iran, and agree on:

I. Joint research lectures, academic meetings, seminars, webinars, and symposiums

 2. Exchange of faculty members and students

 3. Exchange of visiting scholars for faculty members

 4. Exchange of information and materials in fields of mutual interest related to food risk management

 5. Special short-term training programs

 The IUT Initiator of this MOU is Prof. Dr. Seyed Saied Eslamian, head of the center of excellence in Risk Management and Natural Hazards (RIMANAH), Isfahan University of Technology.
