In its inaugural appearance in the prestigious QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) university rankings, Isfahan University of Technology has secured an impressive 489th position out of 1,500 institutions evaluated worldwide.

According to the IUT public relations office, a total of 9 Iranian universities were featured in the 2025 QS rankings. The inclusion of Isfahan University of Technology marks the first time this institution has been recognized on the global stage by this influential ranking system, which is based in the United Kingdom and publishes annual assessments of universities globally, by subject, and on a regional basis.

The 2025 QS rankings assessed 5,663 higher education providers from 106 countries, with 1,503 institutions ultimately earning a spot in the final listing.

Among the top-performing Iranian universities, Sharif University of Technology claimed the 342nd rank, followed by the University of Tehran at 368, Amirkabir University of Technology at 403, and Iran University of Science and Technology at 436 - solidifying Iran's presence in the upper levels of the global rankings.

Additional Iranian institutions making the 2025 QS list include Tabriz University, Shiraz University, Shahid Beheshti University, and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, which secured positions 6 through 9 among the country's top-ranked universities.
