In the opening ceremony of the 53rd Iranian Mathematical Conference held at Mazandaran University, the special award of the Iranian Mathematical Association in Geometry and Topology (Hashtroudi Award) was given to Prof. Majid Gazor, a faculty member of the Department of Mathematical Sciences in Isfahan University of Technology, and Dr. Ahmad Shoghi, a postdoctoral researcher of this department.

This is the twenty-eighth issue of the IUT International E-Newsletters which is designed to expand the university's international scientific interactions with academic institutions abroad, aims to inform all faculty, students, and IUT staff about international events, educational opportunities, and research available in international academic spaces, News of visits and conferences, as well as bylaws and circulars related to international affairs, which can affect the international scientific interactions of outstanding academics.

This ranking is carried out in 54 disciplines and 5 general fields including: engineering (22 majors), natural sciences (8 majors), biological sciences (4 majors), medical sciences (6 majors), and social sciences (14 majors). More than 1,800 universities out of 5,000 were surveyed from 96 countries. 34 universities were from Iran.

The third event from the series of interdisciplinary events at IUT was marked by an international scientific lecture on "Statistical Machine Learning for Analyzing the Brain Connectome" presented by Prof. Ali Shojaei, an Iranian professor at the University of Washington and a member of the American Statistical Association (ASA).

A group of administrators and faculty members of the Department of Physics visited the National Observatory of Iran on June 16, 2022. In this visit, which was carried out at the invitation of Prof.

Prof. Hossein Farrokhpour, a member of the IUT Department of Chemistry, was honored by the Iranian Chemical Society as an outstanding chemist in the field of physical chemistry.

In this meeting, Prof. Mohammad Javad Omidi, the former director of International Scientific Cooperation Center was honored and Prof. Peiman Mosaddegh, was announced as the new director.

This event was arranged on July 25, 2022, and in the presence of IUT President and the administrative staff of the International Center.

A PhD student in Materials Engineering, Isfahan University of Technology, published a paper entitled “Development of New Alloys by Additive Melting Method of Electron Beam” in the prestigious American Journal of Additive Manufacturing with an impact factor of 10,998. This journal is ranked first among 50 journals in the field of Engineering/Manufacturing. This work is the first paper from IUT and the first Iranian paper on Electron Beam Melting (EBM) Technology published in this journal.
